About
Joseph H. Huie Elementary School's purpose is to provide our students with the knowledge, skills and dispositions to be career/college ready. At Huie Elementary, we support the notion that all students are capable of learning if they are given the necessary support.
Our program offerings at Joseph H. Huie support our efforts to carry out our purpose. We offer gifted classes for those students who meet the requirements. For some of our struggling students who may need additional support, we offer After School Remediation. Our monthly newsletters and website provide our stakeholders with a platform to check out the great things that are taking place at Huie Elementary.
We have partnered with Georgia Power (Learning Power) and Georgia State (Bio Bus) in an effort to bring our students authentic learning experiences that correlate to CCGPS. These experiences provide our students with a deeper understanding of the subject matter through critical thinking activities provided by the presenters. At Joseph H. Huie, we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month and Black History Month with activities for the students, a cultural food fest and student led programs. We believe that it is important to bring cultural awareness and
highlight the achievements of these Americans. Our PTO, faculty and community provide their assistance and support to ensure that the cultural programs are a success.
